FESASS brings together the professional organizations in charge of Animal Health in 10 member states, and represents 85% of the European Union’s bovine livestock and 3/4 of pig, sheep and goat livestock. It also represents other livestock species such as poultry and bees.

Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Tierzüchter (ADT)

Germany

The German Animal Breeders Federation (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutscher Tierzüchter e.V., ADT) is a union of the national umbrella organisations of cattle, pig, horse, poultry, sheep and goat breeders, bee keepers. In line with the tasks of each member organisation, we mainly represent the areas of breeding, performance and quality testing and insemination, as well as marketing, in particular to other EU member states and to Third countries.

Association Régionale de Santé et d'Identification Animales (Région Walonne) - ARSIA

Belgium

ARSIA, managed by farmers for the benefit of Walloon farmers, brings together a team of over 130 experts – technicians, engineers, and veterinarians – to meet the needs of nearly 23,000 animal owners and 800 veterinarians in Wallonia (Belgium). Approved by the federal authority, it supports farmers with their animal identification and health obligations while assisting veterinarians in diagnostics and herd health monitoring. A key player at the heart of Wallonia’s animal sector!

France

The Fédération nationale des Groupements de Défense Sanitaire (GDS France) is the French agricultural organization in charge of animal health, hygiene and sanitary quality issues. It brings together all French departmental and regional groups (GDS and FRGDS), and includes cattle, pig, sheep and goat breeders, as well as beekeepers and, in some departments, poultry, livestock and even farmed game breeders.

Animal Health Ireland (AHI)

Ireland

Animal Health Ireland provides benefits to livestock producers and processors by providing the knowledge, education and coordination required to establish effective control programmes for non-regulated diseases of livestock. The advice provided by AHI is developed by a number of Technical Working Groups, whose major outputs and policy advice, wherever possible, are published in international peer-reviewed journals.

Associazione Italiana Allevatori (AIA)

The Italian Breeders Association (AIA) is a non-profit farmers organization established in Rome on August 20, 1944, and officially recognized as a public-interest entity in 1950. Since its founding, AIA has grown into a nationwide network representing 46,000 member farmers.

Genossenschaft der Luxemburger Tierproduzenten (CONVIS)

CONVIS is the association of livestock farmers in the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg. The cooperative represents 700 member farms and provides services to 1,100 dairy, suckler (and pig) farms. Gezondheidsdienst voor dieren (GD)​ owns one of the largest veterinary laboratories in the world, in which we perform almost 5 million laboratory analyses annually. The Associations de Défense Sanitaires (ADS) were created in 1987 and have gradually expanded throughout the country. The 11 ADS in the Alentejo region have joined forces to form a regional union, representing 60% of all Portuguese livestock. 

Tiergesundheit Österreich (TGÖ)

Austria

Tiergesundheit Österreich is an association with members from the fields of agriculture, veterinary medicine, business (dairies and slaughterhouses), and animal health services. The association is recognized in accordance with Section 21 of the Austrian Animal Health Act. The members work together to ensure uniform national standards for measures to improve animal health, animal husbandry and biosecurity in the agricultural livestock sector.
