The aims of the Association are, among others, the following:
- The study and proposal of solutions to the problems of pig production and, specifically, the proposal of measures and collaboration with the administrations for an efficient development and organisation of the sector.
- To collaborate with the administrations in the field of pig production health and to defend the health conditions, both of the production sector and of those activities with epizootic incidences on the sector.
- To constantly advise its members on all current regulations (EU, Spanish State and Autonomous Communities) that may affect the regulation and management of the sector.
- Promote training programmes for livestock farmers, veterinary technicians, managers, foremen and farm workers, in order to qualify professionals in this sector to meet the demands of technological development and the market.
- To inform its members of the activities carried out by the association itself, as well as to send them the prices of live animals for slaughter and piglets in the most representative markets of the EU and agricultural information, and in its circulars, documents, reports, studies, Community and Spanish legislation, etc., that is to say, everything related to the pig sector that it considers to be of interest to them.
