An animal health success story: the eradication of foot-and-mouth disease in the EU in 2025

This year, the European Union is facing a number of serious diseases. In this context, the management and eradication of the foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks that appeared at the beginning of the year in Germany, then in Hungary and Slovakia, have been exemplary and provide valuable lessons. We interviewed the Chief Veterinary Officers of Hungary, Slovakia and Austria to hear their analysis and recommendations. It is essential that we are prepared to deal with this type of plague. Their testimonials are therefore particularly useful.
