Culicoides vector-borne diseases: Which way forward?
FESASS held its Annual General Meeting in Brussels on the morning of Friday March 28, 2025. The main theme of the meeting was the consequences of Culicoides vector-borne diseases (BTV and EHD) and the necessary adaptations of disease management for the future. This theme mobilized representatives of Member States, European stakeholders, FESASS member organizations and European and international institutions.

The various presentations successively dealt with the characteristics and challenges of vector-borne diseases, BTV in the Netherlands and its consequences, international standards for vector-borne diseases (WOAH), the European Commission’s reflections on redefining European policy in this field, and the FESASS position on the management of these diseases.
