FESASS at the Libramont Fair

As they do every year, President Didier Delmotte and Stéphane Jeanne (1st Vice-President of FESASS), Pascal Martens (Vice-President of GDS France) and Alain Cantaloube (Secretary General of FESASS) visited the LIbramont fair.

Our primary aim was to visit and contribute to the involvement of the ARSIA (Regional Association for Animal Health and Identification) at the fair. Indeed, ARSIA is the Walloon member of our federation and is particularly active in the service of Walloon livestock and animal health. It works alongside its various partners, within the framework of the One Health approach, on the surveillance and prevention of zoonoses and the fight against the development of Antimicrobial Resistance (see the video above).

FESASS also took the opportunity to meet Anne-Catherine Dalcq, the new Walloon Minister for Agriculture, and David Clarinval, the Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, the Self-Employed and SMEs, Agriculture, Institutional Reform and Democratic Renewal, as well as Benoît Cassart, the new Member of the European Parliament.

Our delegation also attended the inaugural session of the fair, which included an interesting conference on the challenges of sustainable development or how to reconcile sustainable agriculture and productivity. Mr Hervé Pillaud, author of the book ‘Vers un Monde sans faim’ (Towards a World without Hunger), was the main guest. FESASS was able to meet with him afterwards and have a long discussion with him. Similarly, we had interesting discussions with the partner organisations and institutions of the remarkable One Health centre of this fair.
